office space to a Customs Brokerage Firm that can assist
with shipments coming into or leaving the country.
Foreign Trade Zone: Zone 29, Site 1
CQS is one of a small group of Louisville companies that
has been granted an on-site Foreign Trade Zone by Riverport
Authority. The purpose of utilizing an FTZ is to attract
and promote international business:
• While in the FTZ, merchandise is not subject
to U.S. duty or excise tax.
• Goods may be exported from the FTZ free of duty and tax.
• Customs security requirements provide protection
against theft.
• Merchandise may remain in the FTZ indefinitely
whether or not subject to duty.
• The importer will pay the lowest duty possible
when imported goods are manipulated or
manufactured inside the FTZ.
